The 2011 vintage was exceptionally cool, resulting in a lean, aromatic Chardonnay- reflective of Chablis with its display of Meyer lemon, green apple, baking spices, wildflowers and mouthwatering acidity. This Chardonnay is organically farmed from The Davis estate vineyard in the Russian River Valley.

Vineyard Information: The Chardonnay block on Soul Patch Vineyard sits at the very bottom of the eastern facing hillside. This is an extremely cool pocket of the vineyard, which allows the fruit longer hang time, resulting in bright, beautifully balanced acidity.

Winemaking Notes: The Chardonnay is aged in 30% stainless steel and 70% French oak. Of the 70% French oak, 1/3 of the barrels are new, 1/3 are 1 year old and 1/3 of the barrels are 2 years old. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and fermented on the lees, using all wild/native yeast. The 70% of the wine that is barrel aged goes through malolactic fermentation.
