Vineyard Information: This certified Organic Chardonnay comes from McFadden Farm which is located at the northern end of Potter Valley in Mendocino County. For 37 years, Guinness McFadden has been farming all his vineyards organically. He grows a mix of certified organic grapevines, herbs, rice and cattle. Organic farms sustain diverse ecosystems with higher populations of plants, insects and animals that encourage healthy, well balanced vineyards. To supplement his eco–friendly vision of sustainable agriculture, Guinness built a hydro–electric power plant in 1983, capable of powering 100 homes. In 2005, he installed solar panels to make the farm completely energy sufficient.

Horse & Plow Chardonnay Winemaking Notes: This Chardonnay was handpicked, whole cluster pressed, fermented using a mixture of native and cultured yeast in French oak barrel (66%) and 34% Stainless Steel, and aged 9 months sur-lie. Wine did not go through malolactic fermentation.
