Vineyard Information: This Pinot Gris comes from McFadden Farm located in the cool northwest hills of Potter Valley, in Mendocino County. The warm days and cold nights produce exceptional fruit with ripe aromas, yet retain their natural acidity. For 37 years, Guinness McFadden has been farming all his vineyards organically. He grows a mix of certified organic grapevines, herbs, rice and cattle. Organic farms sustain diverse ecosystems with higher populations of plants, insects and animals that encourage healthy, well balanced vineyards. To supplement his eco–friendly vision of sustainable agriculture, Guinness built a hydro–electric power plant in 1983, capable of powering 100 homes. In 2005, he installed solar panels to make the farm completely energy sufficient.

Horse & Plow Pinot Gris Winemaking Notes: It was hand-picked, whole cluster pressed, fermented in neutral French Oak barrels (0% new), and aged for 9 months sur-lie. No malolactic fermentation.
