La Buena Vid Winemaking Notes: Low yielding (28hl/ha), 60 year old bush vines on limestone/gravel soils with no irrigation. Aging for 14 months in second use French & American oak barrels.
La Buena Vid Tasting Notes: The style of wine that we wanted to make was neoclassical, not modern and bold as so many wines from Rioja that have been made in the recent years are, an elegant wine, with fresh red fruit and fine toasting. A tribute to the golden days of Rioja during the Belle Epoque era.

La Buena Vid 2009 Rioja DOCa
Rating: 90
(80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha, aged for 14 months in second-use French and American oak casks): Bright ruby-red. Spicy, ripe cherry and blueberry aromas expand with air, picking up subtle notes of licorice and cured tobacco. Round and pliant, offering ripe plum and dark berry flavors and an exotic touch of candied flowers. The long, sweet finish features late tannins and lingering smokiness.
