Vineyard Information: The grapes from this wine come from three well known vineyards: Art Ibleto's Vineyard in the southern portion of the Russian River Valley appellation; the Voss Vineyard near the Sonoma County Airport; and the Bertoli Vineyard in Piner Highlands off Olivet Road.
Vintage Notes: The 2012 growing season was just about perfect, both in yield and quality. A mild winter and spring without frost led to a warm but not extreme summer. An ideal fall allowed flavors to develop at relatively low sugar levels. The resulting wines are precocious yet very nicely balanced.
Winemaking Notes: The Taft Street Pinot Noir was fermented in open topped stainless steel tanks with daily punch downs for color and flavor extraction. After fermentation the wine was pressed to barrel for aging in French oak (10% new.)
Tasting Notes: The 2012 Taft Street Russian River Valley Pinot Noir offers waves of berry, white pepper, vanilla and brown sugar. This food friendly wine has a silky texture with bright acidity and fine tannins. There is a mouthwatering intensity that lingers through the finish.
