Winemaking Notes: The grapes for the 2013 Otto's Constant Dream Sauvignon Blanc come from the legendary Marlborough wine estate Hunter's, established in 1979. The grapes are destemmed, crushed and pressed off skins as quickly as possible. Fermentation occurs at cool temperatures in stainless steel vats. Wine is on lees for 8-10 days and bottled early to maintain freshness. The wine is estate bottled at Hunter's.

Tasting Notes: The Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc story gets better every year. Behind the pale green/yellow color lurks a vivid bouquet with smidgeon of grass that puts your palate on notice. The message is delivered in the form of fresh sage, blackcurrant, fresh passion fruit and a jolt of lemon/lime freshness. This is an aromatic wine full to the brim with a savory spectrum. Fresh citrus, minerals and a hint of the sea jostling about yards from the vineyard give the wine a bracing palate quench-ability.

About Otto's Constant Dream: OCD is the wine that launched Communal Brands. Inspired by Melissa Saunders’ obsessive nature about wine, her friend and future business partner, Chris Antista, created a wine in her honor: OCD. She applied said obsessive nature to find the right juice for this eponymous brand, ultimately finding a warm connection in her husband’s native New Zealand. There, her winemaking counterpart, Fiona Turner, had the same passion for wine and was a proven pot stirrer capable of making the wine OCD needed to be.
