Winemaker Notes: "Luminesce, our white Bordeaux blend, is anchored with Semillon at its core, providing lush tropical fruit and honeysuckle. The introduction of Sauvignon Blanc broadens the flavor and texture, elevating the crisp, floral and mineral side of the wine.

Seven Hills Vineyard Information: L’Ecole is a partner in the 230 acre acclaimed Seven Hills Vineyard, which is planted in wind-blown loess of geologically young and mineral rich soils. Originally planted in 1981, this Certified Sustainable and Certified Salmon Safe vineyard was recognized as one of the Ten Great Vineyards of the World by Wine & Spirits Magazine.

Tasting Notes: Rich and integrated, our Estate Luminesce shows exotic spice, kiwi, star fruit and mineral aromas. A citrus edge enhances the creamy, wet stone and passion fruit flavors which gain depth on a lengthy finish.

Rating: 89

Pale, bright yellow. Lemon and mineral scents along with vanilla, ginger and mace. Juicy and shapely, with ripe, harmonious acidity and good spicy lift to the citrus fruit flavors. Nicely balanced and persistent on the back end, showing a youthful lemon edge.

Tight, focused and distinctive with onion-scented lemon curd and spice flavors. Finishes with flair.

L'Ecole No. 41 2012 'Luminesce' (Estate Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc), Walla Walla Valley
Rating: (89-91)

A step up and a rough blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2012 Luminesce Estate Seven Hills Vineyard has great lemon grass, mineral and honeysuckle blossom-like aromas and flavors as well as an elegant, medium-bodied texture that stays fresh and focused through the finish. There-s solid extract here and this should have an interesting evolution over the coming 4-5 years; still, my recommendation is to drink up. Drink now-2015.
