Da Capo is located just south of the town of Asti. Created in 1997 by Dino Riccomagno and Paolo Dania, friends and businessmen. The estate's Barbera vines, which are being farmed organically, range in age from 25 to 40 years old. Planted among the slopes of Agliano Terme, a commune that is known as one of the best sites for Barbera.
Da Capo Sanbastiàn Barbera d’ Asti Winemaking Notes: Vini?ed in stainless steel for 6 months after malolactic fermentation and aged in the bottle for 6 month.
Da Capo Sanbastiàn Barbera d’ Asti Tasting Notes: From hand harvested grapes from the village of Catagnole Monferrato and Agliano Terme, Sanbastiàn Barbera d’ Asti is a perfect introduction to the Da Capo line. Elegant nose with hints of raspberries and violets. Praised and recognized by it rich ruby red color and authentic, zesty red fruits of luscious currants and plum. A soft touch of minerals add to the wines balance. This is a
wine that is meant to be drunk in it’s youth- 2 or 3 years of aging is
all that is needed for perfection. Sanbastiàn Barbera d’ Asti is a crowd pleaser and easily matches some of your favorite foods: Risotto, braised veal with bitter greens with sautéed mushrooms or seasoned cheeses.
