Once again pursuing the Neudorf line of weight and balance, this Sauvignon Blanc reflects the excellent 2012 vintage. Tasting Notes: A powerful wine which maintains elegance. Creamy, lime notes contribute to a sense of vibrancy and vivacity. The strong aromatic, tropical (guavas, feijoas), and floral entry leads into a
tight, assertive and textured mouthfeel with an intriguing flintiness
and a wonderful juicy finish. Drink it with fresh mussels cooked over an open fire, serve it with
fresh oysters or crispy fish and chips (add a squeeze of lemon) and
praise the fact you are in the South Pacific. Vintage Notes: Cool weather at flowering resulted in a
small crop from our Balquidder and Lord Rutherford vineyards on the
Waimea Plains. The fruit was in excellent condition and harvested in
early April. Winemaking Notes: A proportion was hand harvested and whole bunch pressed for greater
overall finesse. Approximately 15% was fermented in older oak barriques
and left on yeast (gross) lees to add texture and complexity.
