Tasting Notes: Complex aromas of dark berry fruits such as boysenberry and huckleberry are interlaced with hints of toasted caramel, brown sugar and white pepper. The palate is bursting with singing acidity and flavors of rosemary, lavender and dark chocolate. Drink now through 2020+.
Winemaking Notes: This wine comes from DuBrul Vineyard and Erickson Road Vineyard. The wine spent 9 months in 8% new, 17% 2-year, 8% 3-year and 67% neutral French oak barrels. The fruit was hand sorted and received manual punch downs twice daily during primary fermentation.
The Best of Washington Syrah and Rhone-style Reds by SFGate.com "This
new arrival from the Northwest's talented David O'Reilly is still a
youngster. But sourced from the Erickson Road and DuBrul vineyards in
western Yakima, this brings a ton of game meat, peppercorn and tar to
its slightly closed but stylish cherry-leather profile, devised from
aging in mostly neutral oak. All the Washington kick you'd want, in a
very pretty package."
