Winemaking Notes: The grape harvest is done by hand. After a very careful selection of Palomino grapes, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Manzanilla “La Guita” is then fortified and aged following the traditional system of “Criaderas and Solera.” Matured in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the gentle sea breeze helps to give it a very dry and crisp flavor. It is aged under veil de flor (natural yeast).

Tasting Notes: Pale golden yellow with green tones. Clear and fresh, aromas indicating a very good biological aging. Matured apples, wild and floral notes, dried fruits, almonds. Dry, light, tasty, rounded, fresh and persistent. Slightly salty finish. Pairs well with any type of seafood, fresh vegetable salads, Japanese tempura, fish and seafood cocktails.

About the Name: The origins of the name “La Guita” come from the fact that the founder of the winery would always ask the interested buyers: Do you have “guita?” Guita in Spanish means cord or string but it’s also a colloquial word for money. That’s why people started calling the winery “la Guita.” Later on a short string was attached to the bottle to reinforce the brand’s name. The trademark “la Guita” was registered in 1908.
