The Wine: The 2012 vintage experienced very good weather conditions that allowed for a smooth and complete maturation of the grapes. Furthermore, the fruit showed great freshness and, because of the large thermal amplitude that dominated the maturation season, higher than usual natural acidity. These conditions meant that this Allamand Valle de Uco Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 shows very intense and fresh red fruits, more elegance, and lower alcohol levels than previous vintages. Only 5 % went through first and second year French oak barrels for less than 8 months.

Vineyard Sources: The fruit comes from two vineyards that Cristian works in the Uco Valley 95% comes from the 13 years old vineyard planted in the district of Las Pintadas, department of Tunuyán and 5% comes from the 9 years old Juan Pablo Calandria Vineyard planted in the district of El Peral, department of Tupungato.

Uco Valley: Starting at 3,000 feet above sea level and located at the feet of the Andes range, the Uco Valley region is today’s place for elegant and sophisticated wines in Argentina: generally showing wines with higher natural acidity, deep bright purple colors, and floral aromas in the nose. These characteristics, very typical of wines made with 100% fruit from Uco Valley, translate into wines that are more complex, interesting, and easy to drink .
