About Beaujolais: Though Beaujolais is technically apart of Burgundy, its style is another world entirely. Known for making fun, juicy, fruity wines from the Gamay grape, the region is home to the largest single-varietal wine production in France. Beaujolais Nouveau is a highly exported, extremely young wine that unfairly earned the region a bit of a bad reputation for thin, easily dismissed wines. Its counterparts in Beaujolais, on the other hand, which include Beaujolais-Villages and the more rare crus wines, have distinctive fruit, light body and good acidity making them excellent, refreshing food wines.
