Fruit Source: From an 11 hectare vineyard of ungrafted vines planted between 1872 and present. Hand harvested.
Aging: A combination of barrique and demi-muid. A few barrels are new, but most are 2nd & 3rd passage barrels from elite Burgundy producers.
91pts (2011 vintage) International Wine Cellar 10/1/2012 "Bright purple. Black raspberry and cassis aromas, with spicy mineral and floral elements gaining power with air. Powerful dark fruit flavors are sweetened by vanilla and cola nuances and lifted by juicy acidity. Impressively velvety wine, with very good finishing breadth and lingering spiciness. Plenty of bang for the buck here."

Bodegas Olivares 2010 'Altos De La Hoya' Jumilla DO
Rating: 91
Glass-staining purple. Powerful dark
berry preserve aromas, with pungent floral and herbal qualities adding
complexity. Alluringly sweet in the mouth, with deep blackberry and
candied cherry flavors showing impressive intensity and power. The
lingering, lucid finish features broad, velvety tannins. Displays
wonderful pliancy and focus, and has the depth to age.
