Coteaux d'Ancenis AOVDQS is a really great appellation that is regulated for Gamay. Gamay wines from here have real density to them that isn't so common from the Loire.
Winemaking Notes: Made in cuve (there is no oak anywhere on
the property). Fermented with natural yeast and has between 0 and 10mg
of sulfur added only at bottling depending on the cuvée. The wines are
neither fined nor filtered. About: This is a wonderful
domaine that is located in the Loire Valley, halfway between Nantes and
Angers. They are one of the older domaines in the region dating back
four generations. They farm around 20 hectares of vineyards and have
been doing so organically since 1990. They are a member of the
Renaissance association and thus have been working biodynamically since
1998.
